Updating Drivers to newest Drivers from Manufacturer
Additionally, consider checking the Tape drive driver to ensure it is
provided by the manufacturer and not Veritas. Go to Device Manager,
Tape Drives, right-click the tape drive and select Properties, if
Provider is Veritas, then perform these steps:
1. Download and Run the latest Certance driver from this URL:
http://www.certance.com/support/drivers/STD-STDL_24-864_-_2000
2. Select the Update Driver button under the Driver tab of the Tape
Drive's Device Properties in Device Manager. Point the update driver
wizard to the directory that the driver extracted to.
3. If Backup Exec drivers were being used previously, run c:\program
files\veritas\backup exec\nt\tapeinst.exe and choose to uninstall and
remove all Veritas drivers.
4. Reboot the server.
5. Run Veritas and verify that the new drive is listed under All Drives
pool, as well as Standalone drives. If one shows Offline, delete it,
and be sure to add the new drive to the All Drives pool by
right-clicking on that pool and choosing "Add Drive".
