Basic networking has become easier and less expensive for the typical user whether in a business or at home. The Microsoft Windows family of software includes all you need to network computers together to share files, printers, internet access and more. These operating systems include the currently supported Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home, Windows 2000 Professional, the Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server families. We also provide support for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and the Windows NT Server family - although these operating systems will soon lose active support and updating from Microsoft. Some of the advantages of a network include the ability to share resources (such as printers and internet access) to files sharing between computers to different choices in centralized file storage and back-up.
When it comes to networking, you have several choices:
Peer to Peer networks (sharing resources and files between computers with no server or servers present)
Server based networks (one or more servers provide and control access to the computers and other resources on the network)
Wired Networks (commonly using Category 5, 5e or 6 wiring that has to be installed in your office or home and network interface cards in your computers and switches or hubs to connect everything together)
Wireless network (utilizes wireless routers and/or access points to establish a connection between your computers using radio waves)
Combinations and variations of the above options using such things as existing electrical wiring or telephone wiring or hybrid wired and wireless networks.
We will help you in this process from the beginning stages of considering your options, gathering information and considering pricing, security, products and other options to the installation, set-up and training to use your new network.
